Best and Worst Time to Visit Dubai in 2024 (From an Experienced Dubai Traveler)
Dubai has become a well-known destination. The city has sprung up from the desert to become one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. It has created an array of modern skyscrapers competing with the best skylines in the world.
With beautiful beaches, amazing hospitality, superb dining, and world-class shopping, it has become one of the hottest cities to visit right now.
So when is the best and worst time to visit Dubai?
I have visited Dubai during January, February, April, May, June, July, August, October, and November, so I have a pretty good idea of when the best and worst times are.
In my post below, I will share my insights and give you some tips so that you can plan the ultimate Dubai trip.
Worst Times to Visit Dubai
Summer Months (June – August)
Summer runs longer in Dubai than in other countries. Although the summer (June, July, and August) are the hottest months, temperatures are high from May to October. You can expect a high of 108 degrees Fahrenheit in August and the humidity makes the summer heat hotter than the actual temperature.
The extreme heat makes it uncomfortable for outdoor activities.
However, during the summer months, hotel prices are much lower than normal and there are many discount offers.
The Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is also a shopping festival that runs between June – September.
Even though the weather is not ideal, sometimes the deals are too good to pass. In that case, you can structure your day accordingly to make the best of the weather.
Peak Season
Another factor that contributes to the worst times to visit Dubai is the city’s peak tourist season. This is Dubai’s busiest time.
From mid-December to the end of February (winter months), Dubai becomes a hive of international tourists, leading to large crowds at tourist attractions and a significant hike in hotel prices. Flight prices are also expensive during the high season.
During December, the weather is cool and comfortable, but sea temperatures tend to be colder, so I would not say this is the ideal swimming weather.
The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) also runs during the period (Mid Dec – End Jan).
Best Times to Visit Dubai
Pleasant Weather
From the end of November to the first week of December and the months of March and April are the best times to visit for the ideal temperature. Note that around Easter, may be a busy time to visit.
The weather during these months is pleasantly warm, with temperatures hovering in the upper-70s during the day, making it perfect for beach trips and sightseeing.
You may be able to catch the start or end of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) during this time if you plan correctly.
Low Season
Dubai has become an all-year-round destination in recent years. There is no low season as there are many events throughout the year that ensure tourists keep coming in. However I have a few tips that will allow you to pick a time that is less busier than peak season.
- Avoid Easter
- Avoid Arab School Holidays and national UAE holidays (I have found hotels to be busy during this time)
Month-by-Month Breakdown

During Ramadan, eating, drinking, and smoking in public places (out of respect) are restricted during daylight hours. However, hotels and mall restaurants operate as normal and you may be able to continue eating as normal.

It is one of the hottest months.
8. When is the absolute best time to visit Dubai?
My ideal pick for weather and fewer crowds would be April and November. Just make sure you are not coinciding with any holidays. You will get hotel rates that are lower than peak and you can enjoy the weather.
Conclusion
There are many factors to consider when planning a visit to Dubai. If you are on a quick transit, it wouldn’t matter when you visited as it would be short. Everything is air-conditioned and comfortable.
However, if you are planning a beach holiday, or outdoor activities or would like to go on desert safaris, then you should consider the temperature.
If you are planning your trip for shopping then you should plan around one of the shopping festivals.
As mentioned I have navigated the city throughout August (the hottest month) and even then although not ideal, it is manageable if you plan your activities around the weather. For example, take an early morning or late afternoon trip to the beach and stay indoors during the day.
Bottom Line on Visiting Dubai
